Overview

Sawtooth Adventure Company’s Youth Adventure Programs are designed and influenced through Jared’s (SAC Owner) experience as a Lead Instructor for the University of Utah’s Outdoor Recreation Program & National Outdoor Leadership Instructor.

The goal of SAC’s Youth Adventure Programs is to offer leadership and educational opportunities for kids while participating in an adventurous wilderness experience. Our programs are designed to introduce 12-19 year olds to river rafting and kayaking in a safe and controlled environment. We customize every program to accommodate your group’s needs. Our standard length for the Youth Adventure Program is 3 days but length is fully customizable as well.

What's Included in the 3-day Program:

  • 3 days of activities within the Sawtooth National Recreation Area: 2 days of guided activities with SAC, the 3rd day is a self guided activity that is planned by Sawtooth Adventure Company 
    • Examples: SAC will help organize a cost free trip to the Sawtooth Fish Hatchery, Sawtooth Mountain Hike, or a local hot springs tour
  • Food prep, camp chef and lunch during the guided activities
  • SAC will secure a campsite with amenities along the Salmon River prior to arrival.
    • Nightly Camp charge is included in the program price 
  • Class III/IV Whitewater Trip with professional guides
  • 14 mile Inflatable Kayak Trip past 4 natural Hot springs
  • SAC provides all equipment needed for river adventures including PFD, wetsuits, booties, splash gear, etc.

 

Groups can add Fly Fishing, Mountain Biking, Rock Climbing or Trail rides for an additional charge.

Group leaders will be expected to provide transportation, overnight camping equipment, supervision and active participation in all activities throughout the program.

Price

This program and services come at a significant discount to regular season prices. Our programs are available May 25th -September 2nd. High season rates are applied July 1- August 14. Cost starts at $185 per person. High Season rate starts at $225 per person.

Size

We can accommodate group sizes ranging 6-48. SAC will work with leaders to plan logistics for the entire program.
